This is meant to be a discussion, not an argument - I think it's important based on the Producer's letter that we discuss what people are really thinking/feeling in regards to the current status of these issues. Please keep this discussion clean and productive.
Class Balancing
This is based on the recent Producer's Letter, the information regarding the way classes are supposed to be balanced (the chart and dmg %). From what it looks like, the gap between classes is just being widened rather than closed. For instance, right now a sin can 1 shot most priests or wizards, so they are already doing a ton of damage. According to this, they are supposed to do even more damage, up to 103% to these two classes. These changes are literally keeping everything the same in that perspective.
At the same time, if we look at an assassin fighting a guardian, guardians are supposed to be taking less damage. They already don't take much damage against anyone (esp sins) because of their stats (con/def), but these changes will make sins do less damage to guardians than they already do, plus the guardian will be able to destroy a sin who cannot truly fight back. This is not creating balance, it's destroying balance more than it already has been.
Priests are really the only classes that need any adjustments - they currently cannot play any kind of support role, they are just a free kill because they are so quickly 1 shot. They end up healing each other which is not very helpful to anyone. Some kind of PvP defense buff for priests would be extremely beneficial to group and solo PvP fights.
Mostly I (personally) feel as though a lot of the survey information was helpful, but also provided out of context. It's incredibly important that people leave their opinions on these topics as it could potentially destroy the Badlands and the population.
This is a 20v20 that shows people clearly being one shot by other classes. These changes are only going to make this worse rather than more even.

PvP Gear
No one is using PvP gear - it's complete garbage. The only pieces people use are the weapons (ranged in particular) and that's so they can compete with others. The gear itself, compared to PvE gear, it's completely horrible and not really used by anyone. There seems to be no difference when wearing PvP gear while fighting players compared to wearing your gear from dungeons.
To top off the fact that the PvP gear is complete garbage, we also have to deal with the frustration of even crafting it.
1. It's bind on obtain. This is terrible, we can't even sell it to other players, we can't give it to guild members, nothing. Not everyone likes to craft, but this (and the other crafted items being bop) has basically made it a requirement to level up your crafting.
2. It's far too expensive. Just to make 1 set of level 30 gear it's going to cost 800 exarium ore (or more depending on the class).
3. The heroic weapons, which are the only things really worth crafting, are soooo expensive and they have a 'low' success rate so there's a very very good chance that all of the materials you farmed or paid for are going to be thrown away, this includes the mats that you can only get by winning the manastone event (1 at a time unless you're the carrier)
The materials required for PvP gear need to be adjusted drastically- success rate for heroic weapon needs to be increased substantially - the stats on the gear need to be much more appropriate to our current level - crafted items need to be changed to BOE rather than BoP.
Mounted Combat
The changes you have decided to make regarding mounted combat in PvP are going to affect the wrong parts of the game. There are changes that can be made to only have Badlands adjusted rather than the entire game. Reducing the damage is a big deal for PvE and still won't do much. People crit for 100k right now with explosive shot, after patch they will still crit around 60k which is still double the health most guardians are running around with.
It is my personal opinion that mounted combat should be removed from Badlands altogether. This would keep you from having to adjust damage; it would also keep the adjustments from not having the desired effects. Having familiars for flying around or land travel in Badlands is fine and totally acceptable, but I fully believe the removal of mounted combat in Badlands will have a positive outcome as a whole.
Heroic Familiars
This is a big one and a bit controversal. There's already a major discussion going on here about this, but I want to touch on a couple of things not directly related to the topic of that post.
Marks have basically been thrown at everyone in the community, and continue to be thrown at us. Instead of adjusting things to be appropriate, you have just band-aided it by making the spawns lower for this extended event. So now, instead of going out every few hours to attempt to jump on a heroic familiar so you can attempt to tame it, you will see people fighting for this almost the entire day until they are able to get it. But it doesn't matter how much time you spend out there, it's likely you will not be able to attempt to tame as many times as you have in marks.
If history shows us anything, it's likely this event is going to be extended too. People will keep getting tons of marks and spend all day attempting to tame heroic familiars over and over. Because there are SO many marks in the system right now and people are taming at least 5x per heroic familiar every 2 hours (pre-patch) there are at least 15 heroic seal stones required every 2 hours. The seal stone market has basically gone crazy. At this point it costs at least 150g for a heroic seal stone (NA Baellas) and the price will continue going up as more and more people are able to tame more frequently because of these changes.
So basically instead of fixing the issue with people having too many marks and too many people attempting to tame at once (creating a bit of havoc and toxicity in the community) you have decided to give people even more spawns to camp with the same numbers. It fixes nothing. Then we have the market for heroic seal stones which is already thrown out of whack by these handouts, which will only become worse as more spawns are camped and tamed.
In closing
Please leave feedback and opinions here. Again, please keep the discussion clean and productive so we can make appropriate changes for the future of this game that will benefit everyone and allow us to have a fun area with balanced combat.
